Experience and Passion
Jasmine brings to the Animal Assisted world 27 years of experience in mental health to include outpatient therapy, group home mental health specialist, program director of non-profit, and 24 years in school social work.
Jasmine has always found comfort and renewal in animals and nature. With an interest in sharing this passion with others she became the first school social worker in Wake to incorporate a therapy dog into her school practice.
With the noticeable enhancement of services supported by a therapy animal requests were flooding in and her services quickly expanded to supporting classrooms, special education, speech and language services, counselor groups and more.
Jasmine decided to dig deeper into the magic of animal interventions. This led to obtaining advanced certification in animal assisted therapy to complement her mental health background.
Wanting to reach even more students she began connecting therapy dog handlers and educators in more schools .
Now Jasmine is expanding services to the public through offering equine assisted therapy to private speech-language and occupational therapists at her facility.
Our Team
You've read enough about me. Now I'd love to meet you.
Yabba is a 16 year old Morgan Horse that has a gentle yet alert demeanor. He is happy to be a mirror into his people and help then learn about themselves through him. He was adopted from Forever Morgans Horse Rescue after a stint of auctions in Amish country for the majority of his youth. He loves carrots, scratches and will happily join for a hand grazing in the field.
Willow is a 12 year old miniature pony that is truly a calming force for all those that meet her. She was adopted from Flare Oaks Rescue after her rehabilitation from over-breeding and neglect. Willow enjoys snacks and naps but really loves a good scratch too.
Lucia is a 5 year old Italian Lagotto Romangalo dog and she hails all the way from Italy! She likes pasta as well as the next Italian but she's gotta watch her carbs!
